Nylon Sev

Nylon sev, also known as fine sev or thin sev, is a type of Indian snack made from chickpea flour (besan) and seasoned with salt and sometimes spices. The dough is extruded through a fine-holed press or sev maker to create thin strands, which are then deep-fried until crispy. Nylon sev has a delicate and light texture, making it popular as a topping for chaats, salads, and snacks, or enjoyed on its own as a crispy treat.
